Lève-toi et bouge ! (Get up and move!) healthy recipes

A healthy recipe with a great taste; it is possible? Lève-toi et bouge! challenges you to share YOUR favourite healthy recipe. Do you know how to determine if your recipe is healthy? It’s easy! It should contain high-fibre(like whole grains), low-added sugar and low-fat ingredients. If your recipe is a main course, make sure it contains ingredients from at least 3 groups of Canada’s Food Guide.

Fibre :

What is fibre? It is a nutriment found in some foods. Fibre helps digestion and makes you feel more satisfied after meals. To eat some fibre, choose fruits (especially whole unpeeled fruits) and vegetables, whole grainproducts, legumes, nuts and seeds.

Sugar :

Ah, sugar! You know it well, but don’t forget that it can be found in several forms: honey, maple syrup, brown sugar, icing sugar, corn syrup, spreads, etc. For a healthy recipe, you must add as little as possible.

Gras :

Did you know that certain types of fat are essential for your body to function properly? Indeed, oil (olive, canola, sunflower, linseed, peanut, corn, etc.), non-hydrogenated margarine as well as the fat contained in avocadoes, olives, nuts, seeds and peanuts are good for the health. However, be careful with fat that damages your health, such as lard, butter, hydrogenated margarine and shortening. Make sure your recipe is healthy by avoiding fat that is bad for you.
